Work Work Work (Whine Whine Whine)…

Sorry for my sudden posting lapse, but work has been all-consuming of late.
I’m working on a project implementing some HR/Payroll system improvements and it’s six weeks until go-live. This is the time when our hands start shaking and our coffee and junk-food consumption and stress levels increase commensurate with the “time left” decrease.
This means, for me, working (albeit at home) after hours and on weekends just to get stuff done!
Also having problems with people or groups who undertook to take care of some stuff on our behalf and now, at the eleventh hour, suddenly find that they don’t have the time to do it. We now have to find a way to get it done, when we have staffed ourselves on expected tasks not including the new ones that have fallen into our lap!
Trouble is, it is hard to be cranky with them, as they’re under the same pressure we are. My organisation is fairly young, so we are trying to get our shit together in order to provide a decent customer service. That means a lot of restructuring (which involves work for the HR and Payroll people who I am depending on), so we are all just flat-out trying to cope with the daily workload, let alone any “extra” tasks that come our way.
So, if you haven’t tuned out to my big whine yet, thanks!
Here’s something to keep you occupied until my next post :)
