Post-Australia Day Navel-gazing
Having four days off work (that extra-long weekend thing) has given me cause to do some thinking.
I was thinking about how, this year, it seemed to me that Australia Day was celebrated with almost maniacal fervour by Australian people. It got me to thinking about what it is that makes us so proud to be […]Aussie Day is coming!
January 26th is Australia Day. It’s the day that the first fleet of English settlers (which comprised of a shitload of convicts and their evil unwashed pommy overlords) landed on the shore of this fine country. It’s a national holiday which is held on precisely the day it falls (a Thursday for us this year), […]
800×600 is SO 1990’s…
I was showing someone this page at work the other day, and was quite dismayed to see how it was displaying. This (l)user was viewing the page on 800×600 resolution, and I have to tell you, it sucked!
I did check that the page rendered perfectly in Firefox and IE, but really didn’t think too much […]Too much hair product is never enough.
Dateline 9th January 2006
Boy posts photo of his friends on Martial Arts web forum.
11 days and 210 forum pages filled with insults and photoshop efforts and the hilarity continues.BAHAHAHAHAHA
(I’m sure these guys would be driving the broom, broom, doof, doof cars if they were old enough to drive, and what the HELL is going on […]Hindsights
Sadly, I’m back at work, so the time I enjoyed making very frequent entries here is now spent slaving away for paid reward. Although the reward isn’t bad, I would much rather be writing here let me tell you!
Today I’m going to rely on Guy Kawasaki, one of the guys originally responsible for the success […]Kancho (where Boong-Ga! Boong-Ga! came from, I suspect…)
I had a comment on the Boong-Ga! Boong-Ga! thread from Jessica in Japan today:
Hi,
Just found your site today. Enjoy what you have to say.
Am currently working in Japan and I have to say that I haven’t seen this game before, BUT i do believe that it would be here. My students actually give each other […]Step AWAY from the filing cabinet!
A few years ago I scored myself a filing cabinet. It’s 2 drawers wide (although the 2 drawers are combined in to one wide drawer) and 2 drawers high. Until I came into possession of this filing cabinet, I was subsisting on a 1 drawer by 2 drawer jobby, which was constantly full to bursting.
Now […]I hate spam.
I hate spam. With a vengeance bordering on murderous obsession.
What pisses me off the most is that these pricks are hard to track down, and many Internet Service Providers don’t give a rat’s arse about doing anything about them.
I hate how spammers are in league with script kiddies who infect unpatched PC’s with trojans that […]Wordpress versus Mambo
Well, as a seasoned Wordpress user for oh, about 5 days now, I thought I would write a bit of a spiel about how I have found Wordpress in comparison to Mambo (now known as Joomla!), the CMS I am using on my other site, Ms-Geek Dot Net.
Overall, I have found Wordpress much easier to […]Boong-Ga! Boong-Ga!
OK, I’ve been trawling the Internet for quite a few years now, and it appears that I am the only person who hasn’t seen this yet (and I’m hoping you haven’t either…)
I feel the need to create a category on this blog for “Them crazy Japanese” because, although they appear to be highly cultured, civilised, […]
